As part of the legal activities of the Nineveh Relief Organization for the year 2025–2026, the Legal Clinic team, in cooperation with several legal experts, worked on drafting the Personal Status Law for Christians in Iraq. Several meetings were held with legal figures, followed by meetings with representatives from a number of officially recognized Christian denominations in Iraq. This initiative stems from an urgent need, as there is still no personal status law specifically for Christians in Iraq to this day. Work is ongoing to reach the final draft in order to hold a conference on this matter, after which it will be presented to the competent official authorities to be enacted as a personal status law specifically for the Christian component in Iraq.
