HNRO, in partnership with the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), distributed stand fans for approximately 1170 Kakei displaced families in Erbil – Khabat. The families were displaced from the Al – Hamdaniya district of the Nineveh Province, from villages including Tal-Al Laban, Kabarli, and Gazakan. The Kakei are a religious minority in Iraq and Iran comprising around 75000 people. The MCC is a worldwide ministry of Anabaptist churches and a global, nonprofit organization. It works to “share God’s love and compassion for all through relief, development and peace.” HNRO stands with all displaced persons regardless of their religion or ethnicity.
